Ability to filter the library by collections
Right now the purpose of the collections is only to search within the resources of the collections.
It would be helpful to have the collections also available in the library so that we can also find resources by collections.

I need this also, when using on iPad I don't want to look at the 50 first results "Cairo Geniza Targumic Fragment" collections for example. Maybe Group these collections in one then click to dig deeper. But for now if I can filter and select collections to browse through that will help a lot.

I would be perfectly happy with the addition of a search parameter similar to the ones provided for tags, authors, etc. "collection:Perseus" is easy enough to type if I want to filter these things.

Yes, please add a collections column/filter to the library. An added benefit would be seeing which resources I have not yet assigned to any collection. Just another way to organize and optimize our library.

Especially as our libraries continue to grow into the thousands, we really need the library window to be powerful to manage our resources effectively.

This is a great idea, but I think we can even do better. Why not give us the ability to add collections (as single entities) to the right click menu search section (IE, Search This Resource, Search All Open Resources, etc.).
So rather than selecting “Moses” in a resource, then right clicking/selection, and choosing, International Bible Encyclopedia as the lookup reference, I could right click and choose my dictionary collection. “Moses” would then be referenced in all of my dictionaries at once. I could also select a word in a verse, then right click and choose my commentary collection, which would find everytime that word was used in every one of my favorite commentaries.
To make this work one would simply create his collections, then right click on the created collection(s), and prioritize that collection. One would be able to prioritize up to 3 or 4 collections. Then go to preferences/ show collections in right click menu. These collections would then show up, from within a resource within the right click menu.
Also, if the collections are available in the library as single entities, then I would be able to populate a panel with all the resources from a collection with a single click. So then, I could select say, my dictionary collection for one panel and the panel would fill with all my favorite dictionaries. Select my commentaries for a panel and that panel would fill with my favorite commentaries.
On that note, it would be wonderful if we could categorize panels. So for example, newly opened resources would not open in a panel categorized for dictionaries unless it was a dictionary.

Seems like a great idea.

I have found there were times I put a resource in several similar collections and really only needed it in one. At present, it is impossible to identify overlaps. It sure would be helpful to have this ability as part of this suggested improvement.

It would be very helpful to be able to see what collections a particular book is contained in already. We can see TAGS, why not COLLECTIONS on the info tab?
