Installable software, library and license backup
Idea coming from this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/119451/784562.aspx#784562
Offline installation media were available for Logos 3 and 4. License backup was also available at some point. Re-installation was possible without cloud. Shipping disks is no longer a feasible model now with a huge amount of available resources. I'm suggesting to get some alternative backup solution in place.
Scenario: I'd like to be able to re-install Logos with all software components, resources and licenses without using the cloud for the following reasons:
- Slow internet connection makes download take almost a day.
- Cloud unavailable for a long period of time or forever (natural disaster, Faithlife goes bust or similar worst case scenario).
As I've invested more than $1500 in Logos, the worst case would be a significant personal disaster as well (and compared to most other users I've probably not spent much - yet...)
In 10 or 20 years, given the unlucky case that Faithlife might no longer exist, I still want to be able to install the full product on a fresh system.
Two possible solutions come from the above thread:
- Logos branded pen drive containing the software and user's library.
- Create an installable backup from within Logos (to be saved to pen drive or external disk for example)
Other features to complement/complete such solution:
* Sync devices via cable (or possibly local network)
* Sync to mobile apps
We do not plan to create an offline installer. For disaster recovery, we recommend using an off-the-shelf computer backup program.

In addition, why not make that pen drive installation portable?!

I would also like to have offline install available, if and when re-install of OS happens.
