Optimize startup time
I have a Core i3 computer with an SSD drive. Even so, Logos always takes between 20 and 30 seconds to start up, and it is not strange that it take 35 or 40 seconds to startup!
BTW, these are the time that I get even with the option to "Show Homepage on Startup" turned off (which does slow things down further, but at least it's clear why).
I recently discovered that if I simply turn off the option to "Use Internet" in Logos settings, that my startup time dropped down to a mere 9 seconds! That is very acceptable. That means that more than half of the Logos startup time is used in talking over the Internet (I am in Europe, but have a fast Internet connection, it regularly gets over 3MB/s on downloads).
It also means that Logos' startup has not been optimized for speed. I want Logos to start ASAP. If it needs to download stuff, don't make me wait 15 seconds each time I start up the program. Just start. Then download or sync, but let me start using the program ASAP.
An example of how this can be done well is when you log into Windows 8 using Windows Live ID. It will sync down your settings, but let's you use the computer while it syncs. Here is a video that demonstrates that idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8UNmjdgiQ1o

That is one of the issues I have with LOGOS. Seems like it is having to rebuild the library every time I open the program.

I'm having this issue in Logos 5. I actually like starting to the homepage, but it takes FOREVER to load. I'm on a core i7 machine! I agree, I want to open Logos and get to work. Anything you can do to optimize startup times would be great.

Sending us a log of Logos 4 startup should help us identify the component that's causing this delay.
