  1. Improve reading aloud

It would be nice if it was on all resources, and you scroll along with the reading.( because if you do that now it will stop reading, and on only one source the computer scrolled along with it, THAT WOULD BE BEST!!)

  2. "Dictionary of Daily Life in Biblical and Post-Biblical Antiquity" by Prof. Edwin M Yamauchi and Marvin Wilson

This 4-volume reference work from two excellent scholars would be a great addition to the Logos library. Having such research just a click away from a topic or passage being studied would be yet another enhancement to the Logos software & library.

  3. create a "collapse all" feature within the table of content window (to the left) to help minimize scrolling

If you open the table of contents window (to the left) and read one or more large sections, such as Genesis and Isaiah in the Bible, it expands and lists all the chapters. You have to then scroll around wasting time to find the right location or close several individual books. It would be more efficient if a "collapse all" feature were available to help restore the table of contents to its original state.

  4. Allow Grouping of personal books into folders/sub-folders like Favorites

Organizing Personal Books in the Personal Book Builder into folders/sub-folders like Favorites would greatly facilitate finding/viewing one's personal book library. Once you have a significant number of personal books, it can be a challenge to see what's there.

  5. Add speaker icons to words in interlinear Bibles

Being able to hear the sound of the Greek by clicking on the speaker icon in an exegetical guide is great. But it would be much better if it was also available in the interlinear display as well. It would allow those unfamiliar with Greek to learn it much easier, without having to go to the hassle of the slow exegetical guide for each verse. This could be selected/deselected like the other interlinear features.

  6. Add tablet pen use

When taking notes in church, typing short notes is fine...but as I'm using more pen based apps I'd love to be able to be able to toggle back and forth between typed text and written notes

As a starter it could save the image of the handwriting in the note but then later could be updated to offer OCR capability, etc.

Another upgrade would allow you to write on the resource as if it's a book and that writing would be stored and would be displayed when that text is viewed, and could be turned on/off.

  7. ISBN Export

Please consider adding ISBN export option. This would allow users to easily add their e-books to “My Library” on Google and similar sites. Thanks!

  9. Allow library resources to be stored on/accessed from external storage (such as from an SD card)

I would like to download all of my resources to an external microSD card so that they are available when I can't connect to the Internet and don't consume the bulk of my internal storage (such as on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 that has 16 GB of internal storage and a 64 GB microSD card.

Supporting an external card could be a great experience for end users. That way, I could have one card that I could use in my Samsung Tab, my desktop system, or any other device Logos supports. Being connected to the Internet can be nice, but it isn't always available and I can't always have my ability to study the Bible via Logos depend on it. My wife and I are hoping to go minister in Africa and Cambodia this year. I would definitely want my Logos resources there, but I may not always have an Internet connection nor may I be able to lug around a bigger system. Having my Galaxy Tab with all my Logos resources, some music, and some other materials on the external card would be a wonderful and simple solution from the end user perspective. Thanks!

  11. Create a proprietary Logos e-ink reader

Find a company that builds and designs e-ink tablet readers and create a Logos proprietary reader, similar in many ways to a Kindle PaperWhite. All I have to do is log into my Logos account and voila, all my Logos resources are available for me to read, just like I used to be able to do with the send to Kindle feature, but this would be a Logos-branded reader, so you don't have to deal with all those crazy lawyers trying to get us to buy books twice (or more) just so we can read them on different platforms. I would buy a tablet reader like this in a heartbeat!!!

  12. Nota Bene, a powerful word processor & bibliographic tool right within Logos https://faithlife.com/nota-bene-software/ Paper Writing Heaven

If you already use Nota Bene you know how great this software is for writing and research. Imagine all the benefits of Nota Bene, Ibidem and Orbis right in the framework of Logos. With the Nota Bene word processor one could write their next paper, article, or full length book with all the benefits of picking your styles (Turabian, APA, etc.) and utilizing the bibliographic manager of Ibidem.

Logos already has a word processor within it, to take notes, though this is nothing compared to the engine of Nota Bene. Logos also has it's own bibliographic tools to keep track of resources, though not as detailed as that of Nota Bene's Ibidem. Logos also has the Personal Books feature to add your own writing into Logos, though imagine if all the benefits of Orbis were working hand in hand within Logos. To be able to search every major library in the World, and create a Bibliography with every detail that library databases utilize, is simply remarkable.

If you have not yet used Nota Bene, please take the time to look at their site and get a trial version of the software. The online tutorials show just how useful this software is, which is used by many major Seminaries and Scholars Worldwide.

Check out the word processor here: http://www.notabene.com/brochures/notabene.html

Ibidem, the bibliographic manager, here: http://www.notabene.com/brochures/ibidem.html

The growing list of institutions that already use Nota Bene: http://www.notabene.com/institutions_list.html

N.T. Wright has used Nota Bene for years, among many other notable Scholars: http://www.notabene.com/NBAuthors/NT_Wright.html

Please join this group: https://faithlife.com/nota-bene-software/ and show your support for Nota Bene. We hope to see Nota Bene and Logos partner together in the near future, to help us all in our academic pursuits.

  13. Can the Sermon Editor PLEASE "drag & drop" content?

As you work on a sermon, the content, scriptures, illustrations, and sub-points can move or change with the flow and organization of the talk. The Sermon Editor, currently, does not allow for this. Presently, you are able to only build it correctly the first time, or copy/paste/delete/and rebuild a slide. This makes using the Sermon Editor very cumbersome to use.

  14. footnote like libronix - example

How Libronix works with footnotes and how Logos 5 does not work

Our students would appreciate it so much if Logos 5 could have this feature present in Libronix

This is how the Libronix Digital Library works with collected items in the clip board

I can collect as many quotes as the Word clipboard permits and when I go to the document(s) where I want to use them they foot note very beautifully .

    Introduction: Creation and Chaos 1:1–2

The unit begins with a concern central throughout Genesis 1–11, the creating God and chaos. We commonly translate these two verses as two complete sentences [1]

Genesis is a name taken from the Greek, and signifies “the book of generation or production;” it is properly so called, as containing an account of the origin of all things. There is no other history so old. There is nothing in the most ancient book which exists that contradicts it; while many things recorded by the oldest heathen writers, or to be traced in the customs of different nations, confirm what is related in the book of Genesis. The passage.—This magnificent chapter is one of the most concise and dramatic sections of the Old Testament. It indeed covers a longer period of time than all of the rest of the Bible, yet with an overview that could only come from the perspective of divine revelation. Some have called it a creation hymn, but this cannot be true, for it is in prose. It shows every evidence of being intended for liturgical use, of being recited in public worship. It was not intended to be dissected by theologians, but to be listened to and proclaimed. It is clear that the [3]

This is how Logos 5 does the same collection unless I do one at a time. No footnote!!! Totally unacceptable for college work. Cannot Logos 5 have this same important feature that the old Libronix does?

  16. Export Highlighted Text

I tend to read with a highlighter in hand and would like to mimic this in Logos. It would be great to be able to just easily highlight as I read along; and then export my highlighted sentences or paragraphs into the notes (with cites) so they could be printed, exported or searched. This would be a great aide for researchers.

  17. Take the restrictions off of Sermon Editor

Greetings, let me begin by saying just how giddy I am that I now have Logos 7. I love it and have loved the software since Logos 1 (CD Word days). I am writing to ask for a couple of enhancements.

1st. Basics of Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary. You should make the words it is pronouncing bigger. Its not like you don’t have plenty of space in the left panel. It would help so that the pointing would be easier to see. Please change that.
2nd - I was so very excited to learn about the improvements to the sermon guide AKA sermon editor. Your instructional video touts its ability to make slides using the outline feature. Much to my horror and dismay its not quite what its advertised to be or at least the logical inference to be drawn from what is stated. The video shows a heading being chosen and words typed. Those words appear almost immediately in newly created slide. Now the most obvious expectation is that you could continue typing words under the heading and those words would be added to the slide. Not so. Ok, no problem so far. Because the next logical idea would be that you must be able to drag over the words typed and click on the add to slide icon and create the slide. Not So! I called tech service and was told oh no, L7 sermon editor is not a full fledged slide generator. My immediate and unfiltered response (in my mind but not said to the tech person) was then the sermon editor is nothing more than a tease!!! The Tech service person went on to explain that the thinking at Faithlife was that you didn’t want the sermon editor to compete with Proclaim. My response was that is not good thinking. The whole thrust of the L7 presentation was that sermon editor was going to make the sermon preparation easier. I found it to be so frustrating that I went back to my tried and true methods. Here is the sad part, what Sermon Editor touts itself as being able to do is exactly what one would want it to do. As for the “don’t want it to compete with Presentation” comment. l’ll admit that I know the underlying logic. Usually, software developers will present a limited functioning software that kinda does what their premier software does. However, the trade off is price. We couldn’t let you do for a $50 piece of software what our $500 software does. I get it. But Logos 7 is by no means the cheap knockoff to Proclaim.

I want to suggest that the non-compete ideology is most as in most unfortunate. Why should you be able to make the slides in Sermon Editor. I don’t mind that you cannot add your own logos and graphics, but you certainly should be able to add your words. I mean come on now! If you don’t then you’ve really hamstrung this great tool. I implore you to reconsider and make the Sermon Editor functional as a slide generator. Just to be fair too, I did sign up for Proclaim.

Thank you very much for considering my recommendations

    Kingdom Blessings

    Bishop Clifford L. Frazier

  18. Manual Save/import/export of Notes/Collections/Layouts/Filters/Searches .

Opps... I didn't want to delete that!! Sound familiar? Allow users to manually save, import & export items such as collections, notes, filters, layouts, search results, etc. This will permit recovery from accidental deletion/edits. It also allows users to select a subset of items to have available at a given time, without losing the others.

  19. Automatic sentence diagram tool

Some resources, like The Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament: Expansions and Annotations, contain all the morphological and syntactic elements to allow an auto generation of line sentence diagrams. What about a tool which automatically built a line sentence diagram after parsing such resources? Would it be excessive as a requisite?

  20. FACTBOOK: DICTIONARIES ARE IGNORED

There are two problems with factbook
    1. first, factbook does not always pull up entries in ABD. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't even though in both cases there is a specific heading in ABD

    1. second, factbook NEVER pulls up entries in some dictionaries like:
