1. VGNTS for Logos

   My name is Allan Loder. I have created a resource that I feel would be beneficial for pastors, teachers and students of the New Testament.

   During my PhD studies at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, I did a course on Epigraphy (as it relates to the vocabulary of the NT). Also, one of my areas of study was NT textual criticism, so I became quite familiar with the papyri and inscriptions. As a student, and as a pastor, I know first-hand the need for good resources.

   Back in 2012, I felt I needed a way to keep up with my Koinē Greek, so I decided to do a revision/update/expansion of The Vocabulary of the Greek Testament by J. H. Moulton and G. Milligan (British scholars). This is a work they started just before WWI, along with the German scholar Adolf Deissmann. Their plan was to produce a new lexicon. The plan was for MM to focus on the papyri and Deissmann would focus on the inscriptions. But when WWI broke out in 1914 the project was put on hold. There was no contact between MM and Deissmann during the war. Then Moulton died in 1917. In 1918, Milligan went on to publish the work they had done to date, and later added a few updates of his own in subsequent editions (1929 and 1930), but the work was never finished. Milligan died in 1934 and Deissmann died in 1937. Their work then sat on the shelf mostly unused and unappreciated for the next 8 decades.

   So, what started as a way for me to keep up with my Koinē Greek studies evolved into me finishing what Moulton, Milligan, and Deissmann had stated all those years ago. i.e., produce a lexicon illustrating how NT words were used in the broader Greco-Roman world.

   First, I digitized the text from the flip-book scanned version at archive.org (https://archive.org/details/vocabularyofgree00mouluoft). Next, I keyed all the words to Strong’s numbers. Then, I provided inline translations for the papyri and inscription resources cited by MM (I personally checked every source cited). Finally, I added material overlooked by MM or became available since 1930. In addition to expanding on their entries, I also added 936 new entries; words MM didn’t get to.

   Attached is a PDF file of ‘Vocabulary of the Greek New Testament: Student Edition (VGNTS). Do you think this would be useful for students and teachers if I were to make it available as a module in Logos? The module does need some proof-reading, but I am working on that.

2. Re-utilize vowel markings that are built into the Mac keyboard

   Back in Logos 7 for Mac, I was able to utilize the vowel markings built into the Mac keyboard (i.e., I was able to press and hold a vowel key, and wait for the vowel marking options to appear above the letter, and then select the one I wanted). With Logos 8 (and now 9), however, that feature went away. I take notes from Logos and copy them into Evernote. So when I do (and since Evernote supports that Mac keyboard feature), I have to go back and change the vowel markings I was forced to use in Logos and correct them in Evernote. It would be so great to see Logos restore that feature (and I know that you can do it, since you had that feature in the past).

3. differentiate notes and highlights

   a highlighted section without any notes associated with it is currently treated the same as a highlighted section with comments. In case a notebook is assigned in the Highlights setting, highlights (without notes) get assigned to that notebook. This fills the notebook up without notes.
   Suggestion: differentiate between notes and highlights. This means highlights without notes get assigned to a standard 'Highlights Notebook' and highlights with notes (which are actually notes) can be assigned as it is currently implemented.

4. Greetings. I'd love to see a "Sermon Alliterating Generator" tool.

   With the sermon builder open having a icon that would produce a helpful suggestions that will help create and assist alliterated key sermon points rather than having to consult endless Thesauruses.

5. Exporting to Google Docs and Google Slides for sermons

   The sermon editor is excellent for exporting to Word and PowerPoint. It would be great if it had the same functionality with Google docs and Google slides. as it currently stands to use this tool requires extra steps. Copy to word. Open in Google docs. Save as google docs. It would be great to be able to go straight through.

6. Treat the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds as Biblical commentaries

   Treat the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds as Biblical commentaries (which they are) and integrate them with Bibles like you do for the other commentaries in your portfolio.

7. Agregar función de traducir material a otro idioma

   Hay mucho material en ingles pero muy poco en español, para los hispanohablantes que no dominamos el inglés, seria excelente el poder contar con una función extra que permita el poder traducir un libro o comentario al español u otro idioma, que al momento de traducir un libro quede guardado como una copia del mismo ya traducido para evitar el estar siempre conectado en internet para generar la traducción, dicha función de traducción no solo ayuda a las personas que no dominan el inglés, sino que también incrementaría las compras de más materiales que los hispanohablantes se han limitado a comprar por no dominar el inglés u otro idioma.

8. Minimizing tabs

   I am a former WordSearch Bible software user and I really miss being able to minimize or maximize tabs in order to view others better or move something out of the way for a later time. What do you say?

9. Allow Bible Navigation by Pericope in Locator Bar

   With a Bible document open in Logos, the Locator Bar navigation options are currently (version 9) "Article, Book, Chapter, Verse, Search Result, Annotation." Please add "Pericope" to this list, enabling a click on the up or down arrow to scroll the display to the previous or next Pericope in the Bible being displayed.

10. Hebrew Bible without vowels and cantillation marks

    It has been several years that I ask if you have a Hebrew bible without the vowels or cantillation marks, but it has not been produced yet. It's okay, but I would like to ask again if Logos / Faithlife can continue considering getting a Hebrew Bible only with the consonants. Even better, maybe consider getting a Hebrew Bible in which we could show / hide the vowel marks. This would be extremely useful when copying/pasting Hebrew text from Logos to a Word document in order to produce a university research paper, or a book in general, without having all those vowel points and cantillation marks. This is possible using other websites online, but I wish to give citation using a published book via Logos, rather than a strange website online with the Hebrew text without vowels and no clear license or web owner anywhere displayed.

13. New speed for Text-To-Speech mode

    Speed 1.0 is slow enough to be annoying, and speed 1.4 is fast enough to be annoying. Could you create a 1.2 speed that more naturally reflects conversational reading speed? Thanks so much, and God bless you!

14. Windows needs to be compatible with tablet mode in Logos

    Your software is expensive, and "Not" being able to use tablet mode with your software makes no sense. I was super excited and bought a really nice touch laptop for the pure purpose to use it as a ministry tool/computer and after finding out its not compatible shocked me. I would be more than willing and happy to repurchase the software if you can fix this as I had purchased the Logos 9 Gold.

16. A guide or workflow for CHURCH FATHERS writings (patristics)

    Logos has the most important collections of the Church Fathers texts, yet there is great difficulty in studying the Church Fathers through them or taking advantage of the logos feature. Therefore, I hope that there will be a guide or a workflow that will include a complete list of the church fathers and their writings and that it will be linked to all the texts of the church fathers available at logos and linked to the Bible of course. Later, it can also be linked with Greek and Latin texts ( PG, PL) when they will be fully available at Logos.

17. Keyboard shortcuts in word processing

    In things like sermon builder and notes, please add the functionality to us keyboard shortcuts (like in Google Docs), especially for bullets, links, text size, etc.

18. Window 10 Tablet PC support

    Team. Please close the gap between the desktop and APP interface. The software gets clunky when using an active pen in Tablet mode with Widows 10. (HP Spectre x360 13-T) Also.. a data sheet with the Windows 10/Tablet PC commands built in to the software would be great.

20. 1.25x Narration Speed

    Please expand the narration speeds to mirror those available in apps like Audible.
    The current options .75x, 1.0x, 1.4x and 2.0x are good.. but the the 1.4x speed is too fast for your default voice. 1.25x would be great
