Floating window for access of opened books...
Greetings In Christ…
I tried to share this point of view in the forums, but was not successful.
My library is composed of over 21K books. Sometimes I have about 30 to 40 books open. Sometimes more…
I have 4-27 inch monitors. They get busy when I have these many books opened.
Sometimes when I’m looking for a particular book that is behind several layers of tabs, it takes me some time to find the book.
Then when I finally find the book, and try to relocate the book from the window and tab where it was, I lose the place and end up relocating the book in another window not related to my layout scheme. Make sense?
So, my suggestion to help deal with this is if you guys at Faithlife can design a “floating window that can be open immediately when more than five books are opened. This window will serve a server kind of window. So when I have, let’s say 20 books opened, I can access this window and click on the book that displayed in the floating window and the book will pop up front from where it was located. It doesn’t matter where the book was, it will pop up to the front where I can read my portion of the book. When I’m finished reading the book, I click on the floating window button defined as “Relocate book”. And when I click on the button, it will relocate the book exactly where it was before. Make sense?
I do have a limited feature like this on the library tab. I click on the “Last accessed” tab and I get the books that are usually opened. When I click on the book, it actually does what I’m looking for, the book pops up to the front. It’s limited though, not sufficient. I also tried to do a search on “Opened Resources”, but it was not successful either.
Any suggestions? I appreciate your time. I know programming can be time consuming so let me know if this is possible. I believe it is. If you guys can index every single word in L8, this is a piece of cake… Sorry, my opinion again…
If you guys cannot do this, can I develop an application myself? Is there a way you allow customization?
Thank you and God bless…
