Provide option to have Logos open to a disignated layout
Currently Logos four only opens to the last screen used before it was closed. In L3 there was an option to have Logos open to a particular desktop layout.
Logos 5.0b added an “At Startup Open To” option that allows you to select a named layout.

What this means to me is this.
1. I open to the start up screen and search for my passage.
2. Logos opens to its default screen. While I would prefer to open to my preferred design. okay.
3. I open layouts and choose my design. Then Logos opens that design with the last passage I studied, not the one I am studying now. That, for me, is maddening. -

I found that when under "layouts" that I can update a named layout to the current configuration by right clicking. I use it all the time. When I am preaching through a book, I update every Tuesday when I start a new passage. That way, all week long, the new passage shows up as well as any resources I might be using with that particular study.

It would be nice to be able to associate a designated layout with specific functionality, such as when I click on my reading plan, open my "Bible Study" layout.

I agree. Every time I perform a search on a new passage, I get the standard five-pane layout which I must reformat to my preferred view. It would be great to be able to define the default layout that I prefer.

I agree completely. This feature should be a part of Logos 4.

I want to add "Copy Bible Verses" and have it default every time I open a passage from the home page. I cut and paste a lot and this would save me time and frustration. I vote for this.

As well as those mentioned, I'd like to be able redefine the default layouts. For ex, a Bible Reading Plan displays a default three panel layout; Passage Guide, Bibles and Explorer. I'd rather see Passage Guide, Bibles and Information. Saving the layout does not work since the Bible panel shows the page when saved, not the current reading for that day.

It takes quite awhile to load what appears to be the default, with the passage guide and all that. I'm sure that for some, that material is what they're looking for, and it makes sense for that to be an option. It slows the program down quite a lot, though. Having a simple, minimal-load layout with a few resources I use every day (e.g., Bible and notes page) would make Logos my resource of choice for common usage.

Amen! I need to be able to go to the homepage, type a verse in the search bar, and have it open to my custom layout of four columns...

Yup....it's a no-brainer for sure.

Absolutely!!!! I cannot believe this is not an option. Seems so basic.

I would love to have L4 start with my desired desktop layout. Just wanted to give a shout out by voting for this! Thanks.

I get tired of L4 starting at the last place where I closed the program. If I still wanted L4 to start where I finished, I would not have closed the program to start with.

I recently purchased Logos 4 - Scholar's Library, and I'm not too excited about the homepage layout and items that are incorporated into it. There's a lot of advertising, and some things I'm not very interested in; so, I would love to have the ability to select what I want to comprise the homepage and how I want it laid out.
Regarding the layouts used during my study time, there is a problem there as well. Logos doesn't seem to immediately reuse the layout I've been using, but goes back to the factory default. I wish it wouldn't; I prefer my design as a primary / default layout when doing passage studies, etc.
I'm afraid that if these options ever become user-friendly features, that I won't hear about it until years later.

I've missed this function as well. I often go banging around between layouts during my sessions, and appreciated that when I would open logos for the first time in the day it would not take me back to my last "usually not desired to be continued" point of study, but to my nice, neat workspace. Please consider giving us this option!
