I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. update resources less frequently

It seems that in the past week, every time I boot up there is a delay of several minutes, since some resource or another is being updated almost daily. Can resources be updated only every week or so, so that I'm not stalled whenever I want to run Logos?

  2. Adding new note using contextmenu in the text should focus the note-textbox

At Logos 7 I was able to add a note via the contextmenu. Immediately i could insert the text, cause the cursor in the note-textbox was active. At Logos 8 it isn't that way. But I thing it should be.
I found out after typing 7 times the tab key, the focus goes to the box.

  3. Add a community section to the Lexham Bible Guides

I bought my first Lexham Bible Guide back when I was working through Genesis 1-11. I was a bit disappointed with the section that covered the various views and positions taken by different commentators. Many of my favorite commentaries weren't even mentioned in the Bible Guides. I realized that that section takes a lot of work to read and summarize a commentary's position but I thought below the official summery there should be a place to write your own and/or see what others have written.

This would take the Lexham Bible Guides to a whole new level.

  4. Outline Browser Enhancements

Add a horizontal line that follows your cursor. It is difficult to see exactly which verses are in common the further you are to the right. Also, enable double click on the boxed sections to open the commentary section to read. In addition, it would be good to add filtering for the scope of the commentaries and other resources. Favorites commentaries could be listed to the left.

  7. Add a search that yields all NT quotes from OT indicating which OT books were referenced by whom in the NT.

Example: Search all references Jesus made to each OT books or all references made from OT in book of Matthew. These searches will yield patterns of which OT books were being used by whom and how often to teach in the NT times.

  8. Make Page Up and Page Down Keys Functional In Note Editor

Logos 7 Note Editor does not allow me to use the Page Up and Page Down keys. The others up and down movement keys like the Up↑, Down↓, Ctrl-Home and Ctrl-End keys work just fine. Please make these keys functional in note editor.

  9. Open a new tab should never go to a floating window unless dragged there

If you float a window, then go back to your main layout and subsequently open a new resource, sometimes it gets opened in the floating window. This is annoying. It's especially annoying when you have a floating window in Reading View. I do *not* want new resources to be opened in that Reading View window.

  10. Create a "find a commentary tool" on web site

Finding a commentary for a specific book in the Bible is hit or miss. Create a "find a commentary" tool that would enable you to drill down based upon faith tradition, rating, price, etc. That would be something really useful for pastors/teachers, scholars, students, etc.

  11. Print/Export my scripture selection allows me to print with highlights, but I cannot copy it to a word doc with the highlights.

Print/Export my scripture selection allows me to print with highlights, but I cannot copy it to a word doc with the highlights. Allow printing with Highlights and markups.

  13. Add Israelology to the Systematic Theology Section in Logos Now

Since Israel comprises about 5/6ths of the Bible, I think Dr. Fruchtenbaum's doctoral thesis, (Israelology-The Missing Link in Systematic Theology), should be added to the Systematic Theology section in Logos Now.

  16. It would be great if the Faithlife Study Bible were available as a separate application for the Mac for those without ready internet access.

I don't have ready internet for my desktop computer (Mac). The only way I can access the web is tethering with my phone. It would be great if the Faithlife Study Bible were available as a separate application for the Mac for those of us without ready internet access who can't access the online version.

  17. Printing / Exporting the table of contents window / pericope sets

It would be nice to have a “print friendly” version of a Bible’s pericope headings and be able to set the range of what to print. As a previous user commented 3 years ago in this link http://community.logos.com/forums/p/24843/184394.aspx#184394 the current print features for pericopes is ink heavy, not very good on paper resources, and when exported it is only a rasterized image.

This “print friendly” pericope headings option could utilize the same existing print window for printing out sections of Bible verses, but instead of printing the Bible text it just prints the pericopes headings in the same outline format…

  18. Add option to export prayer lists to ToodleDo/Task Managers

It would be nice if prayer lists could be exported to external task/project managers. Since ToodleDo is free and has open, published APIs, I'd request that this be the first one considered.

  20. Full text justification on notes

This is not exactly a new idea, since an old version of Logos (and perhaps Logos 4 in the current version) allowed to full justify the note text pressing Ctrl+j.
Another undocumented feature is currently working on Logos 5: you can still select the text in a note, press Ctrl + j and see the text justified when exporting it as a Word document and others formatted docs. Unjustified texts looks messy, so please implement (again) this feature in future versions!
