PDF, docx files
Over the years in seminary, I have downloaded and collected many pdf and docx files. I would like to see Logos having the ability to search these files, make cross-reference, and make notes. If this cannot be done, another alternative is that Logos provides an internal program that would convert these files to native logos format.

Personal Book Builder can convert docx files into Logos books.
We will not be adding PDF import/conversion. There are many commercial programs available that can convert PDF to docx (which can then be imported using Personal Book Builder). Discussions of these programs (as they relate to PBB) can be found in our forums: https://community.logos.com/forums/

Similar to how Zotero allows for linking PDF for PBB.

@Bradley Grainger I see that you won't add the ability to convert PDFs to docx. But, would there be any way to allow the ability in PBB to link to a pdf? I have lots of PDFs that were scans of old books that I would like to reference as a personal book within my notes, but I won't every take the time to make into a word doc. I've tried converting them, but the text never comes out right.

@Mark Bernard, this is by no means a "basic inclusion". Developing this feature would be extremely costly because PDF is a very complex file format. (And it's unlikely that we could ever charge enough money for the feature to recoup our development costs.) We would rather invest our developer time in creating new Bible Study features, rather than replicating a PDF to DOCX converter that's already available in Office 365 (just open your PDF in Word) or for a small fee from other vendors.

Can you enlighten us, Admin, as to why you will not be adding this support, as I would have thought in light of the the context of the internet, and the regularity with which PDF is used, this would have been a basic inclusion into your product.

I have a lot of pdf files but not a lot of cash to buy a program to docx I have asked, some have pleaded, but I give up. Our plea has fallen off deaf ears.

Logos could implement a PDF reader that allows to open, search and annotate PDF documents from within Logos. They made it with Wikipedia. So why not allow to work with PDFs just like a standard reader does? It looks like this has been requested a lot over the years!!!

Adding PDF support would make Logos THE only Bible study software to have all the tools needed by pastors and laymen alike. Please add it! Thank you!

Would really be an asset to the program.

I second the motion.
Having to convert PDF's to DOCX, then import those into Personal Books is a needless two-step. And much of the PDF formatting is often lost during the conversion process.

Why don't you make it a pre-pub-kind-of-thing? I'm sure many of us would gladly pay a reasonable amount to get this functionality into Logos. If you got enough people excited (which I'm sure won't be hard) it should be easy to cover your development cost ahead of time.
