This really useful function was dropped in the move to L4. Applying it meant that when I was working in a version of the English New Testament I could have my Greek text open and linked to that. If I changed from New Testament to Old Testament in the English, then the parallel Original Language text switched to Hebrew. This was pretty neat. Returning to the NT the OL text returned to Greek.
Yes, I know there is a workaround, but it's cumbersome. L4 was meant to be about improving and enhancing the Bible Study experience, but dropping Serial Associations was a retrograde step.
Bring it back asap. Like yesterday!
User-definable “Series” were added in Logos 5.1. In the Library panel, select multiple resources then click “Set series” to give them a custom series title.
+1 to what LimJK commented in regards to the High Definition NT (ESV) and High Definition OT (ESV).
"I just want one HD NT or OT Panel to appear in my Layout."
Good news: they've started working on it: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/67546.aspx

Logos has taken away so many user customization options in L4 in order to reduce customer support training cost. This is one that should not have been taken away. So much user choice has been stripped out of the software. With Logos 4 now in the latter part of its life cycle its time for this option to be reconsidered & re-introduced into Logos 4 or Logos 5.
Another natural and expected Use case:
High Definition NT (ESV) and High Definition OT (ESV)
I just want one HD NT or OT Panel to appear in my Layout
Entering OT Bible Ref in HDNT(ESV) should take me to HDOT(ESV)
Entering NT Bible Ref in HDOT(ESV) should take me to HDNT(ESV)

Further use cases important to my requirements include:
1. Making a "Greek Bible" by serially associating LXX with NT which can then be linked to a full English bible like e.g. NRSV
2. Filling in some gaps in an otherwise fairly complete commentary series with volumes from other similar series so that you can always have a *complete* commentary "series" open and linked to a bible
3. Creating my own commentary "series" consisting of my favourite commentary on each book of the bible so that I can always have them open wherever I go in the bible
The only current workaround for meeting any of these requirements is having ALL my relevant resources open at the same time in different tabs within different panes e.g. Greek LXX and NT in different tabs in the same pane and linked to an NRSV in another pane; WBC, NAC, Tyndale, BST, BECNT, NIGTC, PNTC, UBS Handbook ALL open at same time in different tabs in the same pane linked to the NRSV in another pane. But for several reasons this workaround is ridiculous. It is unnecessarily memory intensive, given that e.g. I might only want a volume of NAC open when I don't happen to own the corresponding volume of WBC. It is also far more cumbersome than it should be to have to switch tabs within a pane from LXX to NT when switching in NRSV from OT to NT. Screen real estate limitations prevents giving each linkable resource or set its own pane.
Clearly Logos 4 has the underlying technology to do "Serial Resource Associations" already, because commentary series already operate that way. Why not provide an interface by which users can define their own?

We're talking Serial Associations!
