Speed up Logos/Verbum!
Without exaggerating, Logos is by far the most sluggish program on my computer. I have a fast i7 laptop, and anytime I open Logos, change the layout, open new resources, or do most kinds of operations, the program freezes for several seconds until it finally recovers and is workable again. Why is Logos so slow, considering that it mostly works with only text, not fancy graphics, video or sound?

SSD hard drive helps so much; if anyone is purchasing a new PC and using logos on it, get an SSD.

Logos was faster but it has slowed down recently. I'm running it on MBP 2016, i7, 16GB RAM SSD. It is better with fewer windows open in Logos, which seems to imply to me that it is a Logos issue. Speed, efficiency, the user not waiting for the program should be a top concern.

The bottleneck of everyone's hardware is disk storage. If you're using a hard drive (platter drive), replace it with an SSD, especially on laptops (you'll get far more battery time).
If you have an SSD and are experiencing issues, overprovision it so wear-leveling doesn't cause hangups.
If you're stuck with a platter drive, defragment it; fragmented drives will bring a system to a crawl.
If you're running BitLocker (or other drive encryption--and you should on a portable device), it will slow everything down if it isn't using hardware encryption (only certain drives have that feature).
Also, check memory usage. 4GB RAM isn't enough and hasn't been for years, especially if you run multiple programs concurrently.
Finally, if it's been a couple of years, consider a fresh wipe/install of your OS.
"Just text" is oversimplistic; there is much behind what Logos software does. Additionally, Logos doesn't run in a bubble: there are many potential issues with the machine, OS, configuration, and other software running on it.
Logos runs beautifully on my 3-1/2-year-old laptop (4th gen i7, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD)--as in, it responds instantly and indexing doesn't slow anything down.

Slowness is my only real negative concerning Logos 6. I have the latest i7 laptop and a desktop with a couple years age on it, and both load at about the same rate. SLOW! Can you do something about this?

I wholeheartedly agree - I love Logos but it can be so slow. Can programmers focus on ways of making this possible - or if speeding it up is too hard, at least ensuring that no newer versions for 5 years make it slower so that as computers improve, Logos speed increases.
