More control over Reading Plans
Focus on beefing up reading plans. I want more control over what I read, when it is read, and in what order. I want a "catch up mode" that allows me to get back on the plan when I fall behind with a choice of how long I want to take to get back on track. It would also be nice to have the program know when I have read ahead by a paragraph or a chapter by noting where I scroll to and then starting me off at that point the next day. Or giving me the option to automatically "adjust plan from today" when I read ahead.
Basically reading plans can be a way better feature with a little attention. I bet others can add numerous other improvements.

The Bible reading plans have a "catch me up" button, but it just skips missed readings! What I would really like is the option just to move the plan forward on the calendar, so I can pick up where I left off without skipping anything.

I have been using my Libronix 3 (Pastors series) for years, and recently upgraded to the core Logos 6 engine, but I'm in the middle of my current reading plan and Logos 6 gives me no way, whatsoever, to enter the current books and chapers (OT and NT each day...I'm currently on Ezek and 2 Corinthians). What's strange is the reading plan generator in Libronix is MUCH more customizeable and intuitive than Logos 6 is. Step backwards.
I have to open up Libronix now to get the reading plan, rather than just stay in Logos 6 to do it all. Reason I wanted to upgrade the engine, mainly was because everytime I open Libronix, I get a white screen where my reading plan was. So I have to close that and re-open the reading plan each time. So, I'm hassled a little bit in either app. Not good.

But those custom plans are not exportable. As a Discipleship pastor, being able to prepare reading plans for Faithlife groups was the reason I upgraded. Disappointed all users must have L6.

Bryan, I've been using Logos as my One Year Bible for about three years now. I had to manually enter the references in order. The only problem I have is that the OYB readings don't match the calendar dates. However, as long as I ignore the date and start each day with the Old Testament reading, and stop with the Proverbs reading, then I stay in sync.

I would like for the reading plan to have more settings, giving us end user more control of how the verses read on a day by day basis is determined. I have yet to be able to reproduce a "Reading Plan" that matches up to any "One Year Bibles" we have found in stores. My wife is a PAPER person, and myself a computer person, but I would like for my One Year Bible to match up with the same reading on the same days as the bibles she will purchase in the stores so we can go through the Bible together and be talking on the same verses each day!

I was thinking of doing a 30-day intensive reading plan, where you do 4 chapters each day, repeated for 30 days, then proceed to the next 4 chapters repeated for the subsequent 30 days. I can't custom-create a plan like this with the current settings.

It is imperative to me that a reading plan be divided by chapter, not pericope or number of words.

I need to be able to modify the exact passage on each day of the plan. I want to be able to repeat reading the same passages over flexible periods of time. Another way to solve this would be to provide an import facility (from Excel or Word) from which the Logos reading plan could be created.

Like James and others I would like to set what is read by day in my reading plan.

I am finding I am using the Reading Plan more and more, and so any improvements would be very welcome!
I would especially like to be able to read a chapter per day :)

Like Jonathan I would like to have a way to use syntax to lock in particular Bible verses per day.
Example: Genesis 1-2; John 1:1-3, Psalm 8, Psalm 104; Genesis 3-5; Genesis 6-7; Genesis 8-9, Psalm 12; Genesis 10-11; Genesis 12-13
Where the program recognizes the colon as the end of one day and the comma as a separator between verses to be grouped together on one day.
This would allow me to build a particular Bible reading plans to fit different training events for our church family.

I just wish I could manually create a reading plan. If they could make some type of reading plan format that allows us to specify groups of reading for each day, that would be ideal for me. Being able to choose books of the bible and specify how many verses per day gets me kind of close to what I want, but I'd love more fine-grained control of those things so the last verse of a day's reading is not at a weird place.

All I'm asking for is a manual way to list four or more passages and have the reading plan continue to display them until it comes to some delimiter that tells it that we are done reading for that day. It should be very easy to do.

See this post on the logos forum, and the replies. This feature needs attention!!
Robert Peters | Forum Activity | Posted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 4:45 PMIs there a way to make a custom reading plan? Like designate what verses to read on what days.

I'm particularly interested in the ability to read ahead on Android. It would be great if, when one day's reading is marked as done, the next day's would be marked off, even if it's in the future.

Chapter based reading plans across different sections of the Bible are also useful. I read 10 chapters a day with 1 chapter from the Law, The Prophets (former), Prophets (latter)...[ in 10 categories]. Very similar to the "Horner" system

When it comes to reading plans logos has never got it - I fought long and hard to get an option to divide on chapter division in Libronix 3 and in Logos 4 & now 5 this option is no longer available. They think an algorithm can do a better job than a person

I would like more control of reading plans as echoed here. The link to "youversion" would be great, but most of all I want the wide array of reading plan options (I am a fan of the ESV Study Bible reading plan).

I just want actual customization of reading plans. Especially with the advent of Faithlife.com.
It would be GREAT to be able to read longer passages on some days and just a verse or two for reflection on other days.
All it would require is a simple markup language like this …
10 Sessions of Mark - John and additional reading of specific psalms would be written like this.
Mark-John | Psalms 1, Psalms 10, Psalms 17, Psalms 23, Psalms 32, Psalms 69, Psalms 110, Psalms 121, Psalms 130, Psalms 150
| = additional reading for each session
, = session divider
-----
I would like to use such a markup language to create a reading plan like what can be found at BibleTogether.com.

I want to create a custom plan that reads a specific verse each day for 150 days
